Karen Jo Koonan is one of the leading trial consultants specializing in criminal defense work. She has been with National Jury Project/West since 1987 where she advises attorneys on jury-related issues in a full range of criminal cases. She spends much of her time listening to and analyzing the experiences and attitudes of prospective jurors on issues related to crime, drugs, race and violence.Ms. Koonan was a national president of the National Lawyers Guild and is a former Board member of Women Defenders, a California organization of women criminal defense attorneys.
