| Biography | Dr. Kildare Clarke has 20 years of experience in Patient Care, Medical Administration, and national and international drugs and health care policy. Prior to his current position as an Associate Medical Director at Kings County Hospital Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Clarke served as the Director of the Kings County Hospital Primary Care Center, Ambulatory Care Department; and as Vice-President of the Doctors Council, NYCHHC. He also currently serves as consultant to the Office of the Kings County District Attorney on Medical-Legal Affairs and to the Office of State Attorney General on Medical-Legal Affairs and Medicaid Fraud Control.As a specialist in one of the busiest emergency rooms in New York City, Dr. Clarke is particularly concerned with the violence engendered by illicit drug markets. He advocates taking a public health approach to controlling drugs and limiting violence. Dr. Clarke has also been active in the medical marijuana issue in New York State, working with several patients to obtain them legal access to the drug.Dr. Clarke received his medical education at Downstate Medical School (1974) and his J.D. at Pace University Law School (1982). |
