Biography

Walker Chandler is a Libertarian Party activist and candidate from the state of Georgia, where he maintains a practice in criminal defense law. He has appeared in the national media in connection to the case which he brought and argued before the Supreme Court, Chandler v. Miller. This case resulted from the state of Georgia's law requiring drug testing of candidates for political office, which Walker challenged during his run for the lieutenant governorship of the state in 1994. Chandler took, and passed the test, under protest, subsequently filing suit claiming that the law was unconstitutional under the Fourth Amendment. Surprisingly, the Supreme Court agreed, and ruled 8-1 against the state of Georgia in April of this year.Walker is also the author of a new book, The Evangeline Manuscript. The first person account of a modern woman's travels during the time of Christ, it directly challenges the moral basis of the so-called drug war. It may be seen on his website.
