| Biography | Dr. Carroll currently serves as Project Return Foundation's Vice President of Clinical Operations. He is responsible for all drug treatment family services, criminal justice, program planning, and staff training and development. Project Return Foundation operates 19 distinct human services programs, serving such diverse special populations as: substance abusers; victims of domestic violence; mentally ill chemical abusers (MICA); women and their children; HIV+ and symptomatic substance abusers; substance abusers with TB; parolees; and HIV+ substance abusers completing treatment programs who are seeking to reintegrate into the larger community. On any given day, PRF is servicing in excess of 1000 men, women, and children.Prior to working at PRF, Dr. Carroll was the Director of Psychological Services at Eagleville Hospital, where he also served as Project Director for the National Drug/Alcohol Collaborative Research Project, among other management positions. He has written and published extensively on the subjects of mentally ill chemical abusers, homelessness and addiction, and therapeutic communities. He has lectured throughout the United States and abroad to both professional and lay audiences, and conducted training on drug and alcohol treatment issues and the interface between substance abuse and mental health problems. Dr. Carroll also developed the "Substance Abuse Problem Checklist," a clinical instrument designed to facilitate the counseling of substance abusers. |
